I started to go Dr. Her’s Chinese medical centre in Dec 2003 after reading lots of positive things about acupuncture helping people get pregnant. My husband and I had been trying to conceive for almost 5 years, after many tests and investigations nothing had been found to explain our infertility. So when I turned 25, we paid privately and went through IVF treatment with no joy then 1 frozen embryo transfer 3 months later (Oct 03) with the same result. We went to see Dr. Her in December 2003 with only 6 weeks to our next treatment (IVF), Dr Li said 6 weeks wasn’t enough time to work with but we’d give it a go anyway. so I did both acupuncture and Chinese medicines. Our treatment 6 weeks later did failed like Dr Her thought but on the test day we had pregnancy reading 25 which wasn’t high enough for pregnancy but it was what is known as a biochemical pregnancy. We took this as a positive sign as we had never got this far before. So I carried on having acupuncture and Chinese medicines and we had our 4th treatment in April 2004,I also had acupuncture before the egg collection and during the 2 week waiting for pregnancy test.On 27th April we got the news we had been praying for …..a big fat positive! I have carried on with acupuncture during the first 12 weeks on the advice of Dr Her, as I type this I am 12 weeks 4 days pregnant and everything is going great. My husband and I both believe that acupuncture and the medicine had a lot to do with our miracle.

I cannot praise this lady enough for turning both my wife ‘s and my life around (health wise) during the past few months. My wife first went to see Dr Li with circulation problems and after a short course of acupuncture coupled with herbal tablets she is 100% better.
During the past few weeks my wife has had a couple of stressful situations imposed upon her and Dr. Li has got those in control for her and now she is ready for anything because Dr. Li listens and advises the best remedies to take and is always willing to see you no matter how busy she is and this lady has the understanding of problems and can come up with the solution all of which are non harmful.
I myself went because I was not sleeping and getting more& more tired and becoming aggressive, not me by a long way, and it was suggested by my wife that I visit and see what can be done. Dr. Li talked to me and worked out the remedies and two lots of herbal tablets got me back into a much more relaxed way and sleeping right through the night, I am still going to collect my tablets once a month now but I am convinced that these little tablets are making me much more energetic and relaxed and without any side effects at all.
I would recommend Dr. Li to anyone thinking of going to get alternative treatment, she will and the you are looking at a very safe remedy. Her clients come from all over the area with some even from Manchester, York, Leeds, this lady is marvel and she is very well qualified to give advise and carry out the procedures so people who go can feel assured they are in safe hands. After suffering from anxiety and depression and unable to live my life and having no confidence, I decided to give acupuncture a try and after a few sessions, I was amazed at the results my appetite improved my well being and overall health felt much better I know I can trust this treatment and will have it again when needed. I hope one day we could have it on NHS. So all could benefit.
Yours Sincerely, K Pickup
Neuralgia after shingles last October 2012 – I had a severe case of ophthalmic shingles. once I was over the initial illness I was left with Neuralgia.I had sever headaches which totally incapacitated me.My head and face felt numb most of the time. Painkiller such as paracetamol or Ibuprofen alone did not touch the pain. My GP prescribed Pregabalin which is an anticonvulsant drug used for neuropathic pain. This medication did work if I took a strong enough dose, however, the side effects were as difficult to live with as the pain.In January 2014 I felt I was becoming depressed due to the constant pain and feeling of not being well. I went to my GP and told him I wanted to stop taking the medication. My GP recommended the possible help acupuncture could be. This was the best advice ever.
Within 10 minutes of the acupuncture from Dr. Her, I could feel an improvement. My left eye felt open for the first time in many months.(I had got used to the feeling in my eye and forgotten it felt half closed). I gradually reduced my medication as advised by my GP. Following my third session of acupuncture, I had stopped taking my medication. The headaches had stopped and I didn’t even need to take pain killers. although I still felt strange sensations on my face and head. Once my course of treatment had finished, this had also diminished.I now feel fit and healthy once again. I feel better now than I have felt for years. I no longer suffer from Neuralgia and my general health has improved.
I only wish I had taken a course of acupuncture 12 months earlier. I highly recommend the treatment.

Diabetic – On September 6th 2005,my routine blood test was 19.7 and my 3 month average reading was 12. On October 7th 2005, I was informed that I had diabetes type 2. The diabetes consultant at Barnsley General Hospital wrote to my GP recommending that I start medication for this immediately. I was told that once I started to take the medication I would have to take it for the rest of my life. The problem with this is that one of the side effects of the taking the tablets was potential damage to my liver. I was already on medication for another condition and had regular liver function tests. Obviously my initial reaction was that I didn’t want to start taking this medication for diabetes. The practice Nurse recommended that I try diet first but the consultant and GP were not happy with this.On November 2nd I visited the diabetes dietician who discussed my diet and suggested various alternative. She said my diet did not seem to contain a high level of sugar and she agreed that I would probably have to prescribed medication.
During this time I purchased a book called ”I Feel Good- Low Carb Made Easy”, which was written by a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner/ \my husband read some of this book and suggested that I try Traditional Chinese Medicine for my diabetes as some years earlier he had great success with TCM for aching legs. At the time, my niece was being treated by DR Li Her in the Chinese Medical & Skin Centre I Barnsley for sciatic pain and infertility. These treatments were both successful and she highly recommended Dr Li Her.
On November 16th I had my initial consultation with Dr. Li HERT. She said that she could help me totally recover from diabetes and that I should start with a strict diet, then when my pancreas had totally recovered I could go back to eating normal food. She recommended a healthy diet in order to reduce my sugar and sweet foods in foods and drinks intake. This included many things such as diet pops, biscuits and 5 portions of fruit a day I had been told by my dietician that these types of food were alright to eat in moderation. Whilst on diet Dr Li Her gave me acupuncture and herbal tablets to recover my pancreas. I didn’t know if this was possible, but if I could just control my blood sugar level without any side effect I would be happy.I carried on with the treatment and had average blood test every 3 months. On January 30th 2006, the reading was down to 8.2, and on April 10th 2006 the reading was down to 6.2. On July 17th I visited my practice nurse and she told me that I was being discharged from my GP. I still monitor my blood sugar occasionally with my blood glucose meter and the reading is around 5.6,which is considered normal. Dr. LI her said I could start eating more fruit and other foods that don’t contain too much sugar. She has already reduced my herbal dosage now and she said that I would eventually be able to stop taking the Chinese medication.
Compared to the usual prognosis for diabetes and the prospect of life long taking of conventional western medicine, I think the TCM option is a superb alternative. Dr. Li HER made a great successful treatment and I would highly recommend her to anyone.
